Feel a bit silly asking this, I've done a search and am still not sure. Where are the best places to lift the van with a trolley jack, both front and rear, and places to put axle stands? Pictures would be great. My van sits quite low so I've got an appropriate jack but am stumped as to where to lift from?

Personally, I put the axle stands under the points above. I use a padded trolley jack under different points further in. Front, near where the back of the lower wishbone is bolted to the chassis. Back, there's a section of chassis where the handbrake cable comes across towards the rear wheels. Neither deflect whilst jacking the van up.

If there's a better way. I'm all ears. T:

And you have even more problems if you have side bars .......

The side bar or running board' aluminium box section mounting points, are bolted to the van's jacking 'pillars'.

Buying the right type lifting jack, should solve that problem >>

I'm dropped 60mm at the front, but I can still get underneath >>

I'd hate to think what would happen if I had a flat tyre at the road side though !

Carry one of those leveling doodahs camper vanners use.
Drive up onto it with your flat.

Saves a lot of jacking, and if you've lowered your ride height, gives room to get a jack under.

Most of those aluminium low entry jacks are complete junk, theyre all chinese rubbish thats branded with whatever UK name they choose to stick on it, I've had 2 clarke and 3 draper under warranty so far. Currently arguing with draper about getting my money back because ÂŁ200 is too much to spend on a jack this bad, this was 2.5 days after it had a completley new mechanism and hydraulics supplied by the rep:

Thanks draper, I love cleaning the workshop floor!
