Pff. Mine's down as a saloon car on the V5. I wrote to DVLA pointing out that Westfalia don't make saloon cars and got the stock response about proof that my vehicle has been converted to a 'motor caravan'. Just haven't got round to it yet I:

They're hopeless...

That Dehler looks quite cool. There's one that been up on eBay for a few weeks now.

I've just found this thread now after I bought a California over in Norway. I finally got this one second time around after the seller beat be to it back in May. Now its mine :D. I'm smitten and how have I not got ed off with my old 2.4 after driving this TDI! I'll have a good old nose around this thread and post some more pics later on. This one is staying in Norway after the authorities said it was cost almost ÂŁ6K to import my syncro :( This will keep me happy though. Seems daft though that I have the 2wd in Norway and the Syncro in the UK DOH!

You could always Syncro it, ? plenty of donors over there
Nah, winter tyres will do me for now. Its amazing what you can do on spikes :ILU: There's already 3 Syncro's in the family. This one is too good for the moment. Its only just cracked 100k miles (in kms). Just had its timing belt done too. Ready for another 100k me thinks :)

Can anybody help me with the dimensions for the front and rear Westfalia decals? the one on the nose of the roof and the one at the back. Mines missing both of them. It's got the "Exclusive" sticker which I think looks a bit naff but I'll have to keep it for its authenticity. By the looks of the other similar coloured vans, it should be a dark grey. I've seen a few decals on eBay but I wanted to check with you kind folk first.

This is a very close match to the original:

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has ever used/seen the FROLI Bed System, I noticed Westfalia use it on all their new models. I wondered if it would work upstairs in the Exclusive. I think clearance at the front may be an issue, the hight is 3.3cm for the "Travel" and 4.3cm for the "Star". Obviously the mattress would have to be stacked at the front for storage as both wouldn't slide under. I think 3.3cm would definately fit, not sure on the other one.

That looks like a really great idea. I'd be interested to see if that fits too T:

Quick question: has anyone successfully removed the Westy central control panel (in the cab headlining, above the dash)? I know there are two holes and you're supposed to push two roughly 2.5mm dia _things_ in there, but after pushing and twisting and tugging every which way it still doesn't want to come out.

What am I doing wrong?

I've done it, I can't quite remember exactley what I did, but it came out fairly easily. I think it was just a question of poke something into each side and then ease the unit out.
That's what I thought, but it's not clear to me what form the poking is supposed to take... and it's certainly not easing out I:

Never mind. I just wanted to fiddle with the dip switches on the rear, but if it's going to be that much hassle it'll have to stay as it is!

Just met my twin down on the Gower! Mine was also a V reg prior to T4 plate, and both were imported by Deepcar. Kicking myself I didn't get the Westy serial number....they could literally have been twins.
His was up on blocks having a rear caliper sorted.

The owner of the my twin owns a small campsite (linked to Caravan Club) on the Gower. I don't want to publish his details here but if you'd like to stay with a fellow owner send me a PM and I'll send details (as long as you are a recognised name on the thread....not some joker trying to steal his Cali).
