Hello,
just bought a t5 (58 plate) and i love it.
I have a problem with the sliding door. it seems to ignore the fob and will not lock/unlock as the others do.

I have

1, looked at and cleaned connectors under the drivers seat and they are like new.
2, opened the box under the drivers seat and checked the soldering (perfect).
3, cleaned the connectors on the edge of the door and door pillar.
4, lubed the lock in the door and checked that it is free to move.

The solenoid in the door does not move and and i am thinking that it may be faulty, but i would like to check some more as they are 100 pounds on ebay.

Would anyone be kind enough to post info for a decent wiring diagram or tell me what voltages ect to expect on the pins on the door pillar please.

any help would be great

kind regards

Quick Silver

Hi @Upspex
I have a 2005 1.9TDi T5. Wanted to fit a central lock to the sliding door.
Bought a second hand kit for the door and pillar but then found out I have a aftermarket (not original) central locking unit which operates by switching +/- signals.
I have the 6-wire bundle and connectors for the sliding door, but which wires should i connect to the retrofit actuator?

Do you have an electric diagram of the sliding door central locking?

I am also having issues with the central locking/Immobiliser wiring on my T5, 2006, 2, 5TDi 4 motion so would appreciate a copy of the wiring if you have one, please genovevaliliana@hotmail.com

behind the light switch, you will see a black 10 way connector for the door harness. (GP models will appear to be different but the wire is the same). Find the yellow/blue wire in pin 6. You need to connect a wire to this and use a switch to pulse a negative to it to lock the doors. To unlock you will need to configure the same switch to pulse a negative via a 900 ohm resistor. Switch should be mom/off-mom

Hi, I'm having trouble with my 2006 1.9 sliding door. For a long time now the central locking would lock itself sometimes, although I needed to be careful not too luck myself out I didn't mind it. Now recently the sliding door won't lock on the fob, I tested the actuator using a battery and it works. Turning the key in the lock doesn't do anything, the only way to lock it is to push the pin on the inside. Any suggestions? Could you please also send me the wiring diagram? Many thanks. finnjesch@yahoo.ie

Repeating a request I posted on the T6 forum (no info so far) since it sounds as though some of the people on this thread might know enough to point me in the right direction:
-------------------------
I discovered an odd issue with the deadlock for the sliding doors on my 2011 T5.1 Caravelle. Manual doors but with 'silent close'. Twin sliders.

  • Lock or lock normally with key fob. All good. Deadlocks work as expected.
  • Lock or unlock with the interior lock. All doors locked but no deadlocks, as expected.
  • Lock with key fob then press 'lock' a second time (this can be a while later, not just a quick double press). Now the deadlocks disengage, as they should. BUT the sliding doors themselves are also unlocked (and the alarm will go off if you open them).

The other doors and the tailgate remain locked (but not deadlocked). Always both doors, and it is doing this each time I try it. So very unlikely to be something to do with the mechanisms or contacts.

I can't see anything online which suggests there is a control unit which relates to locking which would affect a pair of doors (I only see control unit for each door mentioned).

One of the sliders has occasionally ended up being not able to open when vehicle unlocked using the remote but am not clear what is going on - seems to try to open but not be able to (silent close whirs to release but still stuck. Locking then unlocking again gets it going. This sounds like a separate issue but mentioning just in case.

The other possibly relevant bit of info is if there is any relevant wiring/control unit under the driver and passenger seats then it could have been disturbed whilst disconnecting/tidying things (but I don't thing there is any control unit, just connectors, and some fuses, and there was no sign of any damp or anything).

I can't say whether this issue existed before I started any of the stripping out and meddling, or during or after. I never tried the kind of things which revealed the issue until today.

Anyone with knowledge of the locking wiring/controls have any suggestions about what might be going on here and how to fix it? Is there something which is linked to both and only the slider door mechanism (some wiring, a controller or a setting which can be reset or recoded.....?).

Currently the vehicle is stripped out and being insulated, but easy access to much of the OEM wiring and the mechanisms will soon be gone.
