VW still do them.

I would not use rivnuts as they don't really have that much load ability.

Again VW can provide th spreader plates with the weld nuts on.

 

Has anyone fitted extra tie downs (ideally down the middle of the bed) - is it simple enough to do or is there anything I need to be aware of. I am thinking of using rivnuts rather than bolting through if possible.

First things first though, I'm on the scrounge as the previous owner decided to remove all of the standard tie down points, so I need them plus the extras. Does anyone have any knocking around (pref. with cups but I'm not fussy) that they would like to offload/sell? I am after 12 in total (8 for the standard LWB mounting points, plus another 4 to make an extra row down the middle.

I've got 8 complete sets (cups, bolts, spacers, tie-downs), you can have them from Monday onwards if you want? how's £10 for the lot sound?

Little question on the tie-downs ... Are they captive? So if I took the loop off to use the mount directly, will any access be needed from underneath to catch anythng loose or to set on a spanner to tighten?

 

Yes mate, captive nuts in the floor. Think they are M10 but not checked, I can have a look at the tie-down bolts to confirm if you want???
