Hi

Currently running 225/40 R18's and although we like the wheels we dont like the tyres and want to go bigger. The van has been lowered 55mm so am wondering if anyone know's what i could go up to - for starters would 235/50 run OK or would i be touching the arch?

Cheers

Hey peeps. Glad I found a thread on this. I need to knwo the exact info. The van I have just bought is lowered 50mm and is on rs6 18's. I think the tyres are 225/40. But I want bigger profile. So these recommendations are handy.....BUT what is the wheel ET I keep reading and how do I find this out with my wheels? :*

et is how far the wheels sticks out...the higher the number the further the wheel sits in...most audi rs6 etc are around the et35 mark..sitting nice on the arch..

the lower the et the further the wheels sticks out..tyre size is harder when the wheels have lower et's

your et will be on the wheel somewhere, either on rear or in the middle on some wheels with centre caps..

Del, unfortunatly it is with cmc springs not had the van fully loaded , 2 rear passengers and the interior caravelle bench is as heavy as it been so far . from what ive read on here peeps not had great success with the cmc s an the eibachs are way , could do with some advise on suspension set up with the 235/50/18 myself ,anybody? . the speedo readings were done with the sat nav giving the real speed , the thinking behind the 235/50 was - ride comfort, price with 101 weight loading, making the van as "long legged" as pos for motorway cruising . suspension advise please before camping gear an tow bar get added ,gary

Bump... me too. I have the exact same wheels and want to know if this profile will work! I have some serious tread issues (MOT) so need some replacements asap and would love to know if this is going to work.

I have 225/40x18 right now and would like a slightly more comfortable profile. Someone must know... come on folks :)

Hi guys. Bit of a newbie on here. I have 235/50/18s on Ronals at 45et and about 50 mm drop on front 40 on rear to allow for loading. Problems start at a little speed maybe 50 60 mph and any uneven road causes rubbing on front. Also the tyres look just too big for width of arch. Will be fitting 235/45/18 personally I think these are the best option by far.

I am running 235/45/18 accelera tyres for the last 9 months with audi rs6 reps - good even wear, not much road noise and decent ride to boot. I have 60mm drop springs. once rock and roll bed is fitted should sit perfectly. ET is sensible so just about the perfect match tyre size wise for a comfortable ride.
