hi thanks for getting back to me!
it is coming from the output of the turbo! i have found an overhaul kit on flebay!!

Be careful overhauling the turbo yourself as they spin at around 100,000 rpm and ideally need to be balanced whilst rebuilding. just take your time and be methodical and make sure everything is spotless.

cheers jaz

The Steel ones are excellent did you get it from GSF ?

got it from a local Motor Factor, only problem is it hasn't got enough water channels :confused:so i've ordered 2 more. i'll go through them tomorrow & find the right one

Just drill the holes in it for the water & oil channels T:

Brass nipple for boost gauge shown here.

another nice picture of my engine Rasp: the brass part i've fitted there came with the boost gauge I bought from Demon Tweeks. Its a TIM gauge & comes with brackets, tubing & connections - about ÂŁ37 if I remember :ILU:

I'm affraid I'm going to have to revive this thread as I have jumped on the band wagon after giving in to temptation. I started buying the parts required today. I've only got the exh. manifold and turbo off a V70 so far but the breakers is 2mins away and he's very helpful. He will let me know as and when the bits I need come in. I payed ÂŁ120 for the turbo and manifold which were of a 73K miles car which seemed ok.

I will do my best not to ask too many questions but I'm a little unclear on what's involved with plumbing in an intercooler and how to increase the fueling on an AJA/AAB engine so if someone could enlighten me pleeease?I:

Also did I read that the Volvo turbo needs a Volvo boost controller???

You won't look back Jon it transforms the 2.4d. I used the standard Vw acv 2.5 turbo so can't help with the boost controller, Brooksters your man for that. As for the rest ask away. Where abouts in Shropshire are you, i'm in Whitchurch if you need a hand or just wanna look at one done.

That's one heck of a welcomed offer. Thanks! I'm in Shifnal so not a million miles away. I would really appreciate looking at one finished so that I can get a proper idea of what goes where and which is the best way of doing things. Im usually flat out with work but would certainly free up an hour to pop over if and when you had time spare.T:

I got inspired from this thread and look forward to joining the clan. Maybe if enough of us do it we can have our own section. I:

Hello good luck with your build T:

the boost controller connects to the nipple on the wastegate, the V70 has an electronic boost controller but i will be using screw type controller, the V70 is 140BHP as standard so you will need one to reduce the boost to start with.

i would run it at low boost without an intercooler to begin with and then when you know everythings right and money permits fit an intercooler and increase the boost.

been busy with my MK1 Golf so havn't done much last two weeks and the T4 is having pop up roof fitted at the weekend. :D

Cheers. So I don't need to buy an electronic one I can just plumb a manual one like what you're doing then? That sounds simpler.T:
4Motion - I will almost certainly pay you a visit thanks. I will IM you when I am likely to get some time free. May not be for a week or so though unfortunately.:(

No progress with the install at the moment the T4 has gone for the pop up roof fitting this week.

4Motion says its alot easier with the ACV Turbo and bits but they are alot more expensive to buy than the V70 Bits.

think id get as far as opening the bonnet and jus :jd:confused: tho would love it, 2.4TD got nice ring to it T:
haha I think this is what I'd do.

I'm currently working 6 days a week setting up a new business and still running the old one so time to even buy the stuff is limited so paying someone else makes more sense. Either that or I'm going to have to get a new T5.

Right then I have just found another day that I can squeeze a bit of parts shopping into. Brookster I'm following the same route as you with the V70 thing. Can you please tell me which parts you suggest for the oil feed and return pipes and also the turbo hoses? Thanks alot!:ILU:
