Its time to put all the TDi conversion threads in one place to help others as its a bit of a mission to find information through so many lost threads. Please can all 1.9tdi owners log all your threads relating to your conversion work so we have them all in one place. This seems like a good idea because -

1 - Its a record of the number of conversions running
2 - All perspective new TDi conversions can find information easilly on a sticky thread in the engine section.

I will dig mine out and add Aggies masterclass thread to the first post also when its been colated along with Penbryn's genius links for the wiring side of things. I will add usernames to a list also to act as a counter.

Hope this helps some of you to find the information a bit easier T:

I have found a lot of you on here but its a bit time consuming searching every tdi thread. Please post name and any useful threads on here and i will edit the first post accordingly.

any of you guys tried one of those plug in 'performance' units off fleabay ?

with the 16 inch wheels i am finding the towing a little taxing as it appears the gearbox ratios/turbo lag etc are bang on 50mph and just where i need the little extra torque.

they claim some impressive gains i guess through altering the fueling signal.

Its basicly just a Envy mod (see tdiclub forums) in a plug and play format, personally i wouldn't bother. I have thought about having one of THESE soldered into my ecu and plugging THIS into it. They have good feeback and it all seems legit. In theory it should do the job much better but the socket would have to be professionally fitted to the ecu by an electrical repair shop or similar to save damage to the unit.

got 30 mpg with the caravan on the back on a run to Whitby - but i never measured it before so nothing to compare.

the power is amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing and it just sits at 60 mph up hill or into a headwind which it never did before. also noticed that my foot is only lightly touching the pedal rather than being half way down. when its solo it goes like stink compared to the original conversion.

best bit is i can take it off so i need to find me a rolling road that will do a before and after to get a true comparision, but so far its been ÂŁ50 well spent.

yeah you can get some smoke but the one i bought allows you to fine tune.

when you get it the seller has pre set it. when i fitted mine it did nothing so he advised to turn the screw 1 to the left, still nothing so turned another turn - bloody hell !!! smoke on tick over and barking like a V8 when you hit the throttle !! turned it back half and all good.

then whilst on the whitby run the folks behind commented on the smoke when under heavy load ( uphill or leaving junctions ) so turned it back another quarter and all seems good plenty of power and no smoke.

these things appear to be well tested and hundreds of miles have been covered by plenty on the tdi forum so compared to the ÂŁ300+ custom remap i think it is money well spent so far.

been reading these threads and would love to give it a go but having trouble finding a donor car, apart from ebay any other place to look and what should i be looking for as in key words, so far i am using vw mk3 golf 1.9 tdi but i dont get much in the way of results also you guys who found donor cars for 350 are lucky bar stewards, 150k plus cars are going for 650 to 1000, and as my current engine is only 100k i would rather stick to lower mileage vehicles.

cheers
