This may be a weird post guys, but there is a VW M reg Vento in carmarthen for sale, i have no idea of price, but it looks in good nick for its age and i believe it is possibly diesel, suggesting it could be a 1.9tdi?

12 months MOT.

The advert is appalling and is simply penned paper stating "12 month MOT" and a phone number roughly drawn - so it should be cheap. if anyone wants the phone number, PM me and ill get it for you!

Ok cheers. Also just found a problem with the immobilisers aswell there both completely different, my van has 8 pin and my golf has 6 pin but the block connectors are completely different too.

Finished my conversion today (2 days from start to finish!!), very please with it, thank you very much for all the help i have received from the forum, penbryn a wiring guide is a massive help, very informative, and very well writen. Will be spraying my I on my TDI badge tomorrow and sticking that on the van!!

tdi conversion complete...

van up and running today....had a leak from the abl vac pump after starting for some reason..why we dont know.all good in the van..so swapped for the golf one,and all good..

later van with later clocks...rev counter working...all oil lights etc all out and van sat and ran for a good while..sounding all good..

ran out of time for a test drive today...but all was looking good..

no fault codes etc showing....

managed to even use the golf airbox,all golf hoses etc for the intercooler,so no cost at all,and all looks factory...so saved a good few quid....have had to make a few out of sight brackets but all good..

van back on raod on saturday hopefully...with tdi badge fitted...

pretty straight forward conversion we thought...no hassle really...

prob a weeks work all in all,as well as using some time to paint some stuff on the van...

thanks go out to alpepe on here for the lend of his large garage to store van and do work,so as to not take up room at mine,so i could carry on working and have some room

and a even bigger thanks to jez (zmok automotive) for his time and help...the man knows his stuff...a good friend...thanks mate could not of done it without you...a wiring wizard...

How is that catch can working out for you and where did you get it from? I would love to have one like that but i understand the breather on the can can make things smell a little oily. I'm in need of one for mine because the breather is filling the N75 valve with oil and i have to flush it every month to keep it clear
