hi all, what a brilliant thread, made it to page 49 in one go.now i have a question.mine is a 94 2.4d,can my age one still be tweaked? if so i think i will go down the acv parts route and i fancy tackling it myself.as i understand this means that it all should just bolt on with no adapting bits and bobs? i know you have all wrote down what is needed but could someone give me a list for this without the intercooler for now(money means it has to wait). just need to source all bits and cost it up.also my engine could do with a bit of tlc,ie slight oil loss and water use is i bit high??? should really get that sorted or at worst get new or re con? look foward to my old bus crusing up hills.

If you are Using Oil and Loosing Water i would do a compression test on the Engine before you fit the Turbo, with the Water loss it maybe that you need a new head gasket anyway which would be the best thing to do with a 1994 AAB Engine.

Think i have a ACV Oil feed i never used spare T:

i'll get a list of all the other parts required, but if you type into EBAY T4 AJT/ACV Turbo all the parts should come up :D

Does any one have a spare combined dipstick oil return or know where I can get hold of one from?
It's a hard part to get here down under :(

Thanks for part numbers and link Brookster in your post T:

For any one that is interested I have found a site in germany that sells new turbos. Link For the ACV Turbo.

For a EGR blanking kit for the T4 Link Also explains the reasons for blanking it off.

Exhaust manifold has been shipped out yesterday :D and I have ordered the inet manifold and oil line so I will be on the Turbo band waggon soon :jiggy

Any thoughts on using a new turbo over a second hand one. Think it is worth the extra coin for peace of mind knowing the bearings aren't going to sh*t them selves on the motor way?

Just looking at the both inlet manifold designs and it looks like the standard 2.4d would flow a lot better than the 2.5tdi and if using a single pass intercooler should make pipe routing a bit easier.

Anyone tried this?
If you go down this route you will need the V70 Manfiold & Turbo like mine , the Turbo sits lower and will clear the inlet manifold T:

i have one of the oil pipes in the garage as i had a custom braded one made if anybody is interested i will have a look at which one it is

Oil Squirters AAB & AJA

Just to confirm as there has been a few questions regarding this topic the AAB & AJA Blocks have Oil Squirter jets onto the underside of the piston to asist cooling and lubrication. I've never stripped a VW ENGINE that hasn't had Oil Squirters (there are some though but smaller capacity engines)
